AOE-1 in native containment, pre-acquisition.
1/4
For millennia, supernatural phenomena have been subject to literary wonder, mystery, and popular superstition. The notion that these phenomena — typically relegated to the realm of the imaginative and speculative — could be the subject of rigorous scientific inquiry poses a direct challenge to conventional epistemologies of science. In this publication, we report the groundbreaking discovery, classification, and containment of anomalous object AOE-1 — a sentient mass of archaic construction materials. This work not only pushes the boundaries of scientific exploration but also lays the foundation for a new multidisciplinary field. We employ a theoretical framework that incorporates elements of supernatural containment logistics, the scientific qualification of the anomalous ("Description"), and logistical approaches for successful procurement ("Recovery").⁽¹⁾
The mere existence of a supernatural realm that operates parallel to the "natural" world suggests a profound shift in our understanding of reality. The AOE-1 object, classified as "Sentient, Mobile, Aggressive, Predatory, and with Limited Omniscience," becomes an ideal subject for launching inquiries into this newfound terrain. This paper outlines the classification, characteristics, and containment measures of AOE-1 and reflects on its implications for science, philosophy, and metaphysics.⁽¹⁾
Containment
Efforts to recover the prior containment specifications of AOE-1 have been unsuccessful. AOE-1 is currently secured within an 85m³ containment arena—formerly Hangar ██ of the ██████ Airfield. The containment strategy includes a variety of technological and architectural elements to both surveil and restrain the object.
The arena houses observation platforms elevated at a height of 10m since AOE-1 displays inability to ascend vertically. A constructed maze on the containment floor interrupts AOE-1's directional movement and line of sight, effectively ceasing its pursuit of personnel.⁽²⁾
Recovery
The object was excavated from a defunct containment organization facility estimated to have been operational between 1-2 millennia ago (see images). Ongoing archaeological work, undertaken by the newly-formed Society for Containment in conjunction with local authorities, restricts the public disclosure of the exact location.⁽³⁾⁽⁴⁾
AOE-1 measures approximately 2m x 3m x 1m and consists of archaic construction materials. The pile of rubble exhibits random rearrangement, and there are traces of artificial pigmentation, possibly graffiti or vestiges of prior containment-related runes.⁽¹⁾
Description
AOE-1 displays sentient and technically hostile behavior, moving towards an individual in its vicinity through an unknown locomotive mechanism to physically assault them. While it does not employ the force of its momentum, AOE-1 utilizes pseudopodia made of its constituent materials to inflict blunt trauma on the ankle or shin area.⁽²⁾
The object's omniscient characteristics manifest in its ability to sense observation, ceasing all movement when under surveillance. Interestingly, AOE-1 seems confined to three-dimensional space.⁽²⁾
Behavioral Patterns and Historical Context
Evidence suggests that AOE-1 has existed for millennia and has undergone structural fatigue over its lifespan. The object may have been significantly more lethal in a prior state, based on unidentified blood stains and other organic residues.⁽¹⁾⁽⁴⁾
The implications of this discovery are manifold. Not only does the object challenge existing ontological assumptions but also it offers a new paradigm for the intersection of science, philosophy, and art. The coexistence of the 'supernatural' with the 'natural' questions the disciplinary boundaries, and even the definitions of these domains themselves.
In this paradoxical venture — employing scientific methods to explore the intrinsically unscientific — we find a reconfiguration of our understanding of reality. The discovery of AOE-1 constitutes an invitation to bridge scientific methodology and supernatural phenomena, a herculean task that questions the limitations of both. The object's existence reminds us of our epistemological infancy, rekindling the awe and wonder foundational to both artistic and scientific pursuits.
